I would like to express my thanks to the committee for the privilege to judge at this friendly show and to the exhibitors in all three sizes for the super entry supporting their club.
BIS: Braithwaite’s Miniature Schnauzer, Cheantake On The Rocks (Imp FIN), I can’t add to all that has been said about this dog, it was good to put my hands over him, very well turned out, a good looking dog all round, ideal size, moved with great purpose showing reach and drive, his handler getting the very best out of him on the day.
RBIS: Longdin’s Miniature Schnauzer, Wellingley Won Of The Girls, Lovely young lady, very much enjoying her day out, shown in excellent jacket, for me an ideal size for a bitch, head of nice size with parallel planes, dentition ,eyes and earset all correct, elegant neck set into a good lay of shoulder, she cut a nice picture in profile and moved true in coming and going.
BPIS: Nield’s Miniature Schnauzer, Acasia Special Edition, lovely youngster but well up to size, I hope that he doesn’t grow on too much. Head of nice proportions, dark oval eye, ears well set and used to her advantage, elegant neck flowing into a good lay of shoulder, strong straight front with a good length of upper arm, deep well sprung ribcage, close coupled with adequate turn of stifle, shown in excellent jacket , moved out with purpose.
BVIS: Brooks & Blazek’s Schnauzer, Tamberg Gee Whizz at Skywood, Even at her grand age she is still showing her class, she is in marvellous condition, sound all round, shown in excellent jacket, she moved true coming and going, a credit to her owners and the breed.

Critiques
SCHNAUZER CRITIQUE - Mr Pete Bradshaw
Again some movement issues, rear end particularly, some a little loose which could do with some ‘roadwork strengthening’ and there were a few with hocks not straight and parallel.

MINIATURE SCHNAUZER CRITIQUE - Mr Pete Bradshaw
I was honoured to be asked to judge Schnauzers and Miniature Schnauzers by the Committee of the Northern Schnauzer Club. My sincere thanks to them and to all those who entered and attended the show. It was good to see a good entry over the three sizes. As a regular exhibitor to this show I know the Committee and others work very hard to make this show a very well run and friendly show and this year was no exception.
I was a little disappointed with some otherwise fine exhibits that when moved let themselves down as there was some obvious crabbing when viewed front and back. A lot of leg hair over the upper thigh on some which I found distracting and prevented a good visual aspect to the thigh – which I like to see as flat and defined.
