I would like to thank the committee for their kind invitation to judge at this well run & friendly show & for their very warm welcome & generous hospitality throughout the day. The light & bright hall coupled with good sportsmanship from exhibitors & spectators made for a most enjoyable appointment.
BIS: The Giant, Smith’s Boston Blackstone-N (Imp ITA), upstanding 2½ year old, all male with an imposing outlook, strong well-proportioned head with keen dark eye. Strong neck nicely arched & of good length, well laid shoulder coupled with good return of upper arm & strong well filled fore chest scored him highly in the final line up. Well ribbed with good depth, firm well held top line. Strong well angulated quarters, well muscled. Carrying a touch too much weight here though & would prefer a harsher jacket & less soft & profuse furnishings. Moved out so well with a powerful & impressive ground-covering stride, keen alert & up on his toes to take the top spot.
RBIS & BPIS: the Miniature, Longdin’s Wellingley Ways And Means, charming 8 month baby girl, really scores with her shapely compact outline. Good length of head with parallel planes, dark expressive eyes, ears well shaped & set but could be a touch smaller. Good reach of neck running cleanly through well-laid shoulders to firm slightly sloping topline, tailset bang on. Lovely to see a nicely developing forechest with pleasing fill-in. Strong well-angulated quarters balanced with good shoulder & upper arm allowed for free & easy movement in profile. Smartly presented with harsh pristine p/s jacket just coming through, with her keen & alert showmanship taking her into the runner up position
BVIS: the Miniature Dursley’s Wellingley What About Me for Acasia, 8 year old p/s bitch presented in lovely condition all through, has such a pleasing sturdy & compact outline. Head strong but feminine & of good length & proportions, good expression from dark well shaped eyes. Strong arched neck running smoothly through good layback of shoulder into correct slightly sloping topline to ideal tailset. So deep & well ribbed with short strong loin. Well presented in crisp harsh wiry jacket. Moved out purposefully driving off from strong well-angulated quarters with correct tail carriage.

Critiques
Schnauzer Critique
VD/B: 2,1 Bradshaw’s Ch / NL Ch Khanate A Star is Born at Kaiteriteri, 9½ years old bitch, lovely for overall type, compact & substantial with good ribbing & depth, short strong loin. Very pleasing head of good length with strong muzzle & parallel planes, good dark eye coupled with neat well-set ears giving a keen down the nose expression. Good lay of shoulder & return of upper arm, good front & fill-in, topline held firm standing & on the move. Well presented in excellent harsh p/s coat & furnishings. Moved out with purpose & drive, in excellent condition for her age, a real credit to her owner & breeding. BB, BOB & BV 2 Pratt’s Schabaal Vashti, 10-year-old black bitch, compact & typical in outline, well sprung ribs & good depth of brisket. Keen dark eye & expression. Strong neck & pleasing layback of shoulder into short firm topline. Rather too much of a handful for her handler making movement difficult to assess.
PD: 1, 1 Railton & Eales’ Lefenix Future Avenger, 9 months, happy disposition, pleasing head ears & expression, lovely dark mask, strong muzzle. Good reach of neck, fair shoulders, needs to develop in forechest & fill-in. Good ribbing for age, rather at a leggy stage, presented in excellent harsh banded jacket. Well angulated quarters, needs to strengthen in hocks. Keen & alert, however his over exuberance made movement difficult to assess. BPD & RBD.
JD: 1, (1 Abs).
PGD: 1, 1 Bucklow’s Lefenix Dark Avenger, rising 3 years, substantially built, all male & pleasing for overall type. Strong masculine head of length and strength, lovely keen down the nose expression from dark well-shaped eyes. Strong neck with good reach set cleanly into well laid shoulders, would prefer a touch more return of upper arm & forechest, well bodied with good depth and super spring of rib. Well presented in harsh wiry p/s jacket. Drove off from strong well-muscled quarters, showing keenly & really covering the ground. BD.
OD: 0.
PB: 3, 1 Watson’s Commondale Carefree at Jalero, delightful 9 months baby, has immediate appeal for her lovely short backed & compact outline. Feminine head, developing well, dark expressive eyes & mask, very neat in ear. Pleasing reach of neck, set on well-laid shoulders, can still develop in forechest. Well-ribbed & cobby, with very short strong loin. Smartly presented in dark p/s jacket. Moved out well remaining keen & alert at all times. BPB & BP. 2 Railton’s Lefenix Future Majik, 9 months, very good length of head, parallel planes & dark eye, could be smaller in ear. Good length of neck, fair shoulder, well ribbed with pleasing depth of brisket, not quite as compact as 1. Well presented in excellent coat for colour and texture, rather unsettled on the move; 3 Allen’s Amigris Ms Dynamite.
JB: 0.
PGB: 3, (1 Abs) 1 Bradshaw’s Kaiteriteri Izbrannitza, substantially built with compact nearly square outline, strong but feminine head with correct stop, dark eye & good expression. Very well laid shoulder, particularly firm topline held well at all times, ideal tailset. Pleasing forechest & upper arm, well boned but a touch slack in pasterns. Well ribbed up & deep in body. Would prefer a touch more rear angulation for ideal balance. Smartly presented with harsh wiry jacket. Moved out well keeping her outline & with correct tail carriage; 2 Railton’s Lefenix Exhibit Perfectly, strongly built & shapely, lovely deep body with good spring to ribs & strong loin. Pleasing head of good length with strength to muzzle could be a touch smaller in ear. Pleasing upper arm but not quite the layback of shoulder of 1 but preferred her rear angulation & pasterns. Rather unsettled on the move but showed sufficient reach & drive.
LB: 2, (1 Abs) 1 Maiden’s Dane becks Ice Maiden for Maidluns, presents a fully mature compact picture, robust in build with good ribbing & depth. Very pleasing feminine head of good length, dark oval eye & keen expression. Strong neck with good reach flowing smoothly into well laid shoulders & firm topline. Well-muscled & angulated quarters. Demonstrated balanced reach & drive on the move, but carrying a touch too much weight here spoiling the overall picture. Beautifully presented with a dense pin wire p/s jacket & just the right amount of harsh furnishings. RBB & RBOB.

Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, nicely bodied with well sprung ribs, can still firm in topline, excellent rear angulation. JHA Critique
My thanks to the club for inviting me to judge at this show.
Junior Handling
6-11 years: 1(1Abs)
12-16 years: 2,1 Rebecca E. Dobson. A confident handler who stayed calm when her dog was less than co-operative when showing the teeth and she got the job done. Moved her dog well, always keeping an eye on where I was standing and never getting in the way.
2 Robyn Marsh. I liked this handler’s gentle manner with her puppy. Showed the teeth well. Her only mistake was to take her eye off where I was standing and she got between her dog and me on the final return.
