Firstly I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge, their warm welcoming hospitality, and the exhibitors for such a lovely entry. The quality throughout out is extremely encouraging and with such strength in the bitches, the future of this wonderful breed is surely exciting.
BOB: CH JALERO MISS IOWHER, a classy, unexaggerated girl who came to life on the move, not only was she sound with so much power behind her, she had such a cheeky personality which made a me smile. She motored around the ring asking to be looked at. On closer assessment I loved her head, expression and very kind, dark eye, a good strong neck, which she used to hold her head high, a spot on top line that she never lost, and her shoulders are well laid back. She has strength all through but maintains a lovely feminity. I could not look past her for CC, BOB and was over the moon to watch her take RBIS.
RBOB: OUSEVIEW AVID ALENA, as soon as she walked in to the ring I was drawn to this young girl, she is so perfectly steady and sound on the move, and was in the hardest muscular condition, there is nothing overdone about her, which I like, a darker coat of excellent texture, tailset bang on and carries it nicely too. Seeing her here I already felt she could be strong contender for the CC, but once against the open winner lost out on maturity and body. But I have no doubt she will trouble the best very soon. Delighted to award her the RCC and RBOB over the smart dog. I will watch her future with interest.
BP: FIVEPITS THE DETONATOR, extremely pretty girl with a lovely head, she had a good body, lovely shoulders and spot on front assembly, along with good length to neck, she is a little longer in body at the moment, but still only young. With maturity I think she will have a good future. Pleased to award her BPIB, she did herself and owner proud looking great in Best puppy in show challenge.
BV: CH KHANATE MILLION DOLLAR BABY ShCM, this beauty has been such a great ambassador for the breed, and even at her age looks every bit the champion, although catering a few extra pounds she is in such great condition. She had the best ears and expression of the day!! It was a pleasure to judge her today, and thrilled to award her BV, and elated when she pulled out all the stops to win BVIS, showing off her sheer quality. A credit to her owners/breeders.

BCC: Stockinpaws Gravity
RBCC: Ch Acasia Passion from Finland JW
Left – right: BP, BOB, RBOB & BV
BOB: Dursley’s Wellingley Won To Please ShCM a good looking dog from any angle, just shouting Schnauzer. Good clean head and expressive eyes. So sound in bone and body, in good textured coat. He is well put together both front and rear. He looks a picture standing and moves as one would expect from his sound confirmation, very well handled to the DCC, and BOB.
RBOB: Holland’s Stockinpaws Gravity, so nice to go over this quality bitch who looks a picture standing in profile showing off her lovely shape. Splendid head and expression. She is sound front and rear, presented and handled in top order, free and balanced on the move. BCC & RBOB.

My thanks to officers and committee for the opportunity to judge Giant Schnauzers at their Championship Show. A special thank you to my stewards for their efficiency, and exhibitors for entering the clubs 33rd championship show. I thought the standard of exhibits overall was good, but was surprised by some straight shoulder and narrow front construction making for poor front movement.
BOB: CH Draxpark Hot Like Me. Wonderful bitch, loved her type and size, but most of all her balance on the move, from her head of true proportions, strong neck into correct shoulders, slightly sloping topline, compact body, great rear quarters she effortlessly powers around the ring, turned out in top condition pleased to award her B.C.C. & B.O.B. and delighted to see her go onto B.I.S.
RBOB: Foxwood’s Backtrack. A very imposing male, fabulous head planes dark oval eye, flowing neck into excellent shoulders, loved his slightly sloping topline, deep compact body, strong rear quarter construction effortless, reach and drive just got better the more he moved, well handled to D.C.C
BPIB: Foxwood’s Femma Fatale For Dulejoes Pup of 7 months lovely type presented giving clean outline typical expression, she has nice angles front and rear, well handled to B.P.B. and B.P.I.B.
BVIB: Gloris Lolly Pop. Quality veteran of 8 years old, lovely head shape, strong neck into good shoulder, well off for body great rear quarters, moved freely.

Critiques
BIS CRITIQUE - Mrs J Harrison-Smith
It was a pleasure and honour to award the top honours at this well organised and friendly show.
Best in Show – Parker’s Giant Schnauzer, Ch. Draxpark Hot Like Me, a true Giant Schnauzer, defined by correct, harsh coat , super head and expression, best of all she had a correct frons with excellent layback of shoulder with well angulated upper arm, giving forechest and correct, strong, slightly sloping top line. She had a defined correct , well ribbed body. She out moved the Schnauzer having good, well muscled hindquarters.
Reserve Best in Show – Watson’s Schnauzer, pepper/salt, Ch.Jalero Miss Iowher, as with the BIS winner, a true Schnauzer, defined by correct, harsh coat , super head and expression, best of all they both had correct fronts with excellent layback of shoulder with well angulated upper arm, giving forechest and correct, strong, slightly sloping top lines. She too was also defined by correct , well ribbed body.
Best Puppy in Show – Longdin’s Miniature Schnauzer, Wellingly Won of the Girls, like the BIS, so well put together with a pepper/ salt coat which is the best, with excellent head and expression. There was nothing ‘terrier’ about her, she is a true schnauzer.
Best Veteran in Show – Bawden and Brown’s Schnauzer, Ch. Kanate Million Dollar Baby ScCM, pepper/ salt, wearing her 11 1/2 years well, a credit to her owners. Still an excellent example of the breed, she is a credit to her owner/ breeders. Part of the reason she is still in such good shape is because she is constructed correctly, so still has a strong topline.

SCHNAUZER CRITIQUE - Miss Lucy Dixon
Firstly I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge, their warm welcoming hospitality, and the exhibitors for such a lovely entry. The quality throughout out is extremely encouraging and with such strength in the bitches, the future of this wonderful breed is surely exciting.
MPD: (2,2abs)
PD: (No entries)
JD: (2,2abs)
PGD: (2,0)
1: MICCOSUKEES WINNING HAND, a young dog with lots of potential. He wasn’t cooperating with his handler being stacked which unfortunately didn’t help his outline. To go over he has a gorgeous head, with a lovely dark eye, and we’ll set ears when he uses them, he is of a nice size with well laid back shoulders and was so sound on the move, with more training I have no doubt he could trouble the best.
2: LEFENIX DARK AVENGER, a larger and heavier dog who has a lovely top line and great tailset. Today he did pace a lot on the move. He has a good solid front, but I did feel he was carrying a bit too much weight.
LD: (4,0)
This was a really good class, and I’m sure places will often change.
1: BOUJAN DATE WITH DESTINY, an impressive dog who creates a lovely outline, with the most beautiful neck and top line. He has a strong, masculine head, with such a kind eye, the more he moved, the more I was taken by him, I would like to see him moved a bit faster to show his full stride. A lot of work had gone into his presentation and he was shown in great condition. With maturity he will surely be at the top. A pleasure to award him the RCC.
2: LEEBREN AMERICAN PIE, black of excellent colour, on the first run around the ring I knew it would be a close decision in this strong class, but this male stood out with his rear drive and side gait, he is lovely to go over with good shoulders and spring of rib and tight elbows, but lost out to the winner on strength of head.
3: DRACO ALARM BESKYD FOR OUSEVIEW
OD: (5,2)
1: CH KHANATE GIN FIZZ ShCM, another imposing male, who has the best of ears and expression looking down his nose at you. He makes a lovely outline and I really appreciated that he isn’t too exaggerated! He powered round the ring effortlessly and so soundly in all directions. With his steady showmanship I could not look past him for the CC.
2: FIVEPITS THE MOLE, a larger heavier dog, with excellent front assembly, again he isn’t exaggerated in any way. He drives well from behind.
3: CH DANELBEKS CRY O’GENICS
VD:(No entries)
MPB (1,0)
1: DIAMOND IN THE SKY OF DIAQUINCY AT DANELBEKS (imp), 6month baby who is so raw still at the moment with lots of potential, taking the whole experience in her stride and never stopped wagging her tail. She has the sweetest expression, kindest of eyes, and already in great coat.
PB (2,1)
1: FIVEPITS THE DETONATOR, extremely pretty girl with a lovely head, she had a good body, lovely shoulders and spot on front assembly, along with good length to neck, she is a little longer in body at the moment, but still only young. With maturity I think she will have a good future. Pleased to award her BPIB, she did herself and owner proud looking great in Best puppy in show challenge.
JB (9,0) This was a fantastic class, no only for numbers, but the quality was so high, I have no doubt places will change regularly.
1: ACHNACARRY QUINCY’S GIRL, This girl stood out for me from the first go around and did not disappoint when I got my hands on her. She is elegant without exaggeration, has a gorgeous head and well made all through. She moves so well, particularly from the rear where she has power and drive whilst keeping her strong top line. I considered her for the RCC.
2: COMMONDALE CAREFREE AT JALERO, another lovely bitch who has such a purposeful drive from the rear, a great show girl who I’m sure will be at the top as well, just lost out today on expression and ear carriage.
3: MICCOSUKEES THE SHOW GIRL
PGB (3,0)
1: OUSEVIEW AVID ALENA, as soon as she walked in to the ring I was drawn to this young girl, she is so perfect, steady and sound on the move, and was in the hardest muscular condition, there is nothing overdone about her, which I like, a darker coat of excellent texture, tailset bang on and carries it nicely too. Seeing her here I already felt she could be strong contender for the CC, but once against the open winner lost out on maturity and body. But I have no doubt she will trouble the best very soon. Delighted to award her the RCC and RBOB over the smart dog. I will watch her future with interest.
2: BOUJAN ETERNALLY YOURS AT MINNIENOOM, still young and has a lot of maturing to do, very steady on the move showing well, nice to go over.
3: AMIGRIS MS DYNAMITE
LB: (4,0) Again a very strong class full of quality, places will easily change on another day.
1: ACHNACARRY SOPHIES GIRL, a close decision between 1 and 2. This girl moves well, has a strong but still feminine head and uses her ears well, a good strong top line held on the move, loved her neck and strong rear end when stood, but would have like a bit more character on the move to show that strength off.
2: SWEET SURI ALARM BESKYD FOR OUSEVIEW (imp), similar comments to 1, so nice to go over, a strong, well made front, and lovely side profile going around the ring. Lost out today on not using her ears, altering the expression.
3: MAIDLUNS MARTHA MAY
OB: (6,2), a nice class, which varied a lot in, types and style.
1: CH JALERO MISS IOWHER, a classy, unexaggerated girl who came to life on the move, not only was she sound with so much power behind her, she had such a cheeky personality which made a me smile.
2: BOUJAN INDEPENDENT CLIMAX, a more exaggerated and elegant style which is very eye catching, she makes a very impressive outline. As with her kennel mate a lot had gone into her presentation. She does not disappoint to go over, good shoulders and lovely front, prominent chest and again well-laid shoulders. I thought she could have been my winner, but today was not as steady or sound as others on the rear.
3: KHANATE EURO MILLION
VB: (5,2)
1: CH KHANATE MILLION DOLLAR BABY ShCM, this beauty has been such a great ambassador for the breed, and even at her age looks every bit the champion, although catering a few extra pounds she is in such great condition. She had the best ears and expression of the day!! It was a pleasure to judge her today, and thrilled to award her BV, and elated when she pulled out all the stops to win BVIS, showing off her sheer quality. A credit to her owners/breeders.
2: CH/NL CH KHANATE A STAR IS BORN AT KAITERITERI, this girl has the same qualities to her older sister, and still looks every bit a champion. Looking in fine form demonstrating how well constructed she is still moving so well. Again, a pleasure to have her here to judge today.
SPECIAL BLACK DOG/BITCH: (1,0)
1: SCHABAAL VASHTI, a mature girl of excellent colour, so well trained and moving better here in this class than she did earlier, she knows how to play her owner up. She is still looking so well for her age, good strength to head and even now has the darkest of eyes.
