My thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge the prestigious awards at their 40th Anniversary championship show.

All three dogs were top drawer exhibits presented in peak condition.
The winner had to be the Giant Schnauzer Ch Philoma One Night only.
At three and a half years this dog is now fully mature and at his best. He is so well presented, in perfect muscle tone and commands attention when he powers round the ring, head held high and with strong driving action.

So well presented, with the most exquisite head and super ears that create that desired ‘down the nose’ expression, smart as paint and in good firm condition.

Giant Schnauzer Sir Constantine De Barba Negra at Philoma Wow! What an exciting prospect this young pup is. With everything to like!
Super head with the neatest of ears. His body is almost square, strong and firm, Loved his lay of shoulder. Broad chest developing, in great muscular condition. Presented in a harsh coat and handled to perfection.

Such a cracking representative of the breed. Hard to believe she is 10.
Lovely feminine head, super neck to shoulder with that desired angulation. Tail set bang on!
Her jacket was crisp and neatly presented throughout and with showing no signs of age in her strong movement.

 

Puppy Dog 

1st Moores Odivane Brother In Arms, Smart young male 9 mths, nice for size, beautiful head of good length with strength to muzzle, dark eyes, neat ears, good neckline leading into firm topline, correct sabre tail, good angles fore and aft, excellent harsh coat with pepper/salt down to his toes, just needs to fill out and broaden in chest, moved out freely and well, future assured. Junior Dog 

1st Moores Miccosukees Giant Heart For Odivane, Striking young male with lots to admire, nice for size and presents a good outline of the breed, masculine head although could have a bit more strength in muzzle, neat ears, super neckline and slightly sloping topline, strong quarters, excellent pepper/salt harsh banded coat, scored highly on the move with good reach in front and drive from the rear holding his shape in profile, lots more to come from this dog RCC

2nd Peffers Xavier Pepper Grand Calvera At Miccosukeees, Well grown P/Salt, really lovely head and expression. Ears need to settle, well bodied he makes a nice outline stacked, good angles fore and aft, lovely tail set and carriage, he is very puppyish at present and a bit rolly on the move, coat is harsh but starting to blow, moved well and just needs time to come together.

Limit Dog 

1st Boulton & Van Oostens Boujan’s Just Amazing, Strong masculine P/s on the top size for standard,  good skull and muzzle but a little cheeky, stacks up well in outline, neat ears, firm topline, well sprung ribs carried back,  good angles fore and aft, excellent harsh coat well presented, moves out freely in profile but a tad close behind.

2nd Fish & Moss’ Invidia Dios Signore Dulejoes (IMP RUS) P/s on the smaller side, liked his head and expression, good neckline, moderate angles nothing overdone, needs more spring of rib and fill in front, sightly sloping topline, excellent harsh coat, moved okay.

3rd Scholes Odivane My Boy

Open Dog 

1st Lockyers Ch.Miccosukees Apache, On the smaller side but within standard measures, this dog has to be hands on to appreciate his many qualities, well proportioned head with nice expression and neat ears, good neckline with slight arch, well made through his forehand, firm topline, well sprung ribs and strong loin, correct tail set and carriage, excellent quarters, harsh banded pepper/salt coat, comes into his own on the move with good reach in front and power from the rear holding his shape in profile, not a flashy boy but very correct all through CC & RBOB 

2nd Mathers Danelbeks Arthur Mo, Tall upstanding dog, he has a lovely head and expression, ample neck, would prefer more angulation through his front, correct tailset and carriage, strong topline, balanced quarters, moved out freely.

Champion Dog 

1st Boultons & Van Oostens Ch.Boujan Fizzy Stuff, Masculine dog with a good headpiece and dark eye, ears on the larger side, balanced angles fore and aft, deep well sprung ribs, tad longer in loin, correct tailset, firm topline, excellent harsh pepper/salt banded coat well presented, just a bit too much of him for me, moved out freely in all directions.

Veteran Dog 

1st Bawden & Browns Ch.Khanate Gin Fizz, hard to believe this chap is 12 yrs old now, the owners must be commended on keeping him in such fine condition, so nice for size, good length of head with dark eyes,  almost square in body with firm topline, correct angles fore and aft, arched neck, moved out freely.

Baby Puppy Bitch

1st Maidens Maidluns Love Again, This lovely confident baby made me smile and was probably the one I would take home today, she has it all going on, lovely shape, super head and eye, slight arch to neck, good front assembly with well balanced quarters, correct tail set and carriage, nice for size, well bodied with good spring of rib, excellent bright p/salt coat, moved out so freely and true, one to watch. BBPIB

1st Lewingtons Ciao Bella Leebren Grand Calvera,  promising young black, appealed in head and expression with dark eye, well made through her forehand and balanced in the rear, correct tail set and carriage, well sprung ribs, firm topline, a tad longer cast and doesn’t need to grow on anymore, moved out freely and well

3nd Spurrs Agbelladon Bright Lush, P/salt with a lovely bright harsh banded coat, decent head with dark eye and neat ears, good angles fore and aft with evident forechest lacking in many, firm in topline with good tail set and carriage, nice for size, moved out freely in all directions.

1st Scandalous Alarm Beskyd With Dulejoes(IMP) lovely type of bitch with many qualities, super head, eye and expression, neat ears, slight arch to neck, good front and forechest, slightly sloping topline, correct tailset, a tad over angulated in quarters, nice for size, excellent harsh bright banded coat, moved out freely in all directions, am sure will do well in the future as she matures. Junior Bitch 

1st Lockyers Miccosukees Love Heart, Super young bitch who was in close contention for top honours, really nice head, eye and expression, well proportioned body with good angles fore and aft, well constructed throughout, correct tail set and carriage, stacks up to a nice outline of the breed, coat wasn’t at its best but still harsh and banded, excellent mover in all directions and feel she will do some useful winning in the future, handler could get so much more from her in terms of movement and sparkle.

Post Graduate Bitch 

1st Staceys Dovahdok’s A Lady Kida, Pretty young bitch with a very nice head, eye and expression, neat ears, makes a good outline on the stack, straight front but rather narrow and needs to fill out, firm topline and correct tailset and carriage, excellent bright p/salt harsh banded coat, moved okay

2nd Bradshaws Kaiteriteri Hijinx, Pale pepper/salt, nice for size, good head and eye, moderate angles fore and aft, correct tail set, well sprung ribs with firm topline, didn’t want to use her ears today, moved well.

1st Mathers Danelbeks A Kind Of Magic, classic bitch very much my cup of tea, robust and presents a typical outline, good head and eye, neat ears, excellent front and forechest, firm topline, correct tail set and her tail just never stops wagging, well balanced quarters, in excellent harsh banded coat and firm body condition, moved out well.

2nd Moores Fillipers I Kid You Not, different style to one and giving away a fair bit in maturity, dark pepper salt harsh coat, super head, eye and expression, slight arch to neck, firm topline with correct tail set, well made forehand, just needs to fill in and broaden in chest, strong hindquarters, makes a lovely shape on the stack, moved out well.

1st Watsons Ch.Miccosukees Guess Who At Jalero, I have long admired this lovely bitch, she reminds me of some of my early champions, super head, eye and expresson, slight arch to neck, excellent front and forechest, well sprung ribs, firm topline and correct tail set, strong well balanced quarters, makes a lovely shape on the stack, fully mature and has a beautiful harsh bright pepper/salt coat, she moves out freely but just lacked the attitude and showmanship today.

1st Lewingtons Ch.Taru Leebren Grand Calvera, Feminine black of lovely size and proportions, pretty head with dark eye, well made through forehand, well sprung ribs, strong loin, correct tail set and carriage, firm topline, well balanced quarters, makes a nice outline on the stack and moved out freely in all directions, would like a harsher coat to finish the picture. 2nd Atkinsons Ch.Appleisar Annavayro, On the taller side this pepper/salt makes a nice shape on the stack, appealed in head and expression, well balanced angles fore and aft, firm topline, beautiful harsh pepper/salt banded coat, correct tail set, moved out freely but a tad narrow front and back.

Veteran Bitch 

1st Boulton & Van Oostens Ch.Boujan Independent Climax, Hard to believe this bitch is 10 yrs young, she has a lovely head, eye and expression, slight arch to neck and well laid shoulders, evident forechest, well sprung ribs, firm slightly sloping topline, correct tailset and carriage, well balanced quarters when her owner doesn’t overstretch her, nice for size and all of a piece, excellent coat and condition and is a free easy mover in all directions holding her shape in profile going around, simply didn’t put a paw wrong.CC & BOB – BVIB & BVIS

2nd Moores Ch.Fillipers Good As Gold, another super veteran proving just how well this breed lasts into twilight years, makes a lovely shape on the stack and so good to go over, in super coat and condition, just didn’t match the winner on movement today but a credit to her owners.

Special Black Dog or Bitch 

1st Hardys Kathalan Star Lord, Black he is at that teenage stage and really needs to fill out all through but has promise with a nice shaped head, good outline on the stack, moves freely, coat coming.

 

Thank you to Northern Schnauzer club for giving me the opportunity to judge the miniature schnauzers.Thank you to Bob and Sue Mc Grann for stewarding for me very much appreciated they both did a fabulous job. Thank you also for the beautiful crystal trophy. I had a very nice day with some beautiful dogs, quite surprised that some dogs didn’t meet the required breed standard of the scissor bite. A few shoulder placements and rear movements also let the breed down, however the chests have improved and the jackets on the day were harsh. My CC winners and their reserves shows the breed to its best.

Baby Puppy 

1st Searson Traphens Colossus. Very promising P&S puppy of 5 months, moved well, good shaped head and neat ears, nicely balanced. Moved well.

2nd Davidson Wellingley Wot A Mix. Again a nicely shaped puppy with a good head ears and dark eye, just a little unsettled today.

Minor Puppy Dog

1st Woodsford Karebols Hooray Henry. A 6 month old P&S with a keen expression and a dark eye, nice brick shaped head and a good chest moved well.

2nd Dawson Gryselda Step In Time. A nice shaped male good head and dark eye. Harsh jacket and moved well but preferred 1 today.

Puppy Dog

1st Manser Nujax Blue Moon BPD + BPIB. Caught my eye when entering the ring. Smart and well groomed B+S male nice head proportion correct oval eye and neat ears , harsh jacket correct dentition and good angles. Moved very well around ring.

2nd Gudgin + Campbell Arkangath Hellcat with Jennayr. Good strong looking P&S male, liked his head ears and oval eye, good chest and moved around the ring with attitude.

Junior Dog 

1st Bell Glockens Everybody’s Talkin. B&S male good head proportions nice eye and keen expression, clean neck and shoulders and front assembly. Good bone and moved well.

2nd Goddard Evesher You’ve had Enough. A Good balanced dog with a harsh jacket and good front. Moved out well.

Post Graduate

1st Mc Dermott Lichstone Midnight Ghost. Nice brick shaped head and neat ears, dark eye and a good length of neck leading into a nice front and spring of rib. Good on the move.

2nd Gill Wallensis Of The Outlaws. Smart white male with neat ears and good head. lovely harsh jacket just preferred the movement on 1 today.

Limit Dog

1st Hood Starboard Satchmo. Res DCC & Res BOB Couldn’t take my eye of this male as he moved around the ring. Good head and length of neck leading to a sloping top line, well balanced body and good chest. Neat ears and harsh jacket Moved really well.

2nd Descere DoradoTyrasAkvamarinasAtAmorevita(IMP). Another very smart and lovely outlined Blk male, strong head and good shoulders leading into a nice top line, good chest and neat ears. Moved well just preferred the movement on 1 today.

Open Dog 

1st Parker + Mc Donald Violas Wait N’ See SHCE’s. Lovely male very nice head proportions clean neck into shoulders and sound movement good rear angles.

2nd White Deansgate Lester Square. Strong looking male with correct head and neat ears. Lovely neck and shoulders and harsh jacket. Needs to slow down on his move.

Champion Dog 

1st Bell+Burns CH Glockens Let It Be JW. DCC, BOB & RES BIS Well this male certainly wanted to strut his stuff in the ring. Smart and well muscled with a correct brick shaped head scissor bite and neat ears, Dark oval eye. Clean neck and shoulders good depth of chest and well ribbed. Beautiful outline. Moved with Drive and was handled correctly.

2nd Manser + Lowton-Humphries Esp CH Manit’s Nothing Compares To U with Nujax (IMP). Another stunning male with all above but preferred the movement on 1 today.

1st Mellor Beanara Njals Saga At Lyzahro VW. BVIB Nearly 12 yrs old white male. Good head and clean neck and shoulders. Harsh Jacket. Moved well.

2nd Davis Kristen On Top Of The World. Another solid black with good pigment and strong head and neat ears. Harsh jacket. well ribbed. Moved out well.

Puppy Bitch

1st Boyle Stormovar Deja Vu. BCC. Stunning bitch of almost twelve months. Strong head and correct eye, neat ears and a good length of neck. Lovely sloping top line and chest and harsh jacket in place. Moved with drive her out line is beautiful. Giving her the first CC i feel it wont take long before she gets her other 2 CC’s.

2nd Woods Woods + Price Penbro Fool Me. Once Slightly younger bitch with a good head and neat ears good reach and moved well.

Junior Bitch

1st Day Risepark Buffey. Good head and dark correct eyes nice ears and harsh jacket. Good rear angles and sloping top line moved very well.

2nd Reeve Deneens Fig Tart. A lovely shape with a nice head and neck good shoulders and harsh jacket. just preferred movement on 1 today.

Post Graduate Bitch 

1st Carver Oldbashurst Time To Shine. Compact and cobby black bitch, nice head and ears good neck and chest. nice rear angles. good on the move.

2nd Young Nostaw Penelope Pitstop. P&S bitch, again another good shape and good rear angles, harsh jacket and good length of neck and nice shoulders. Moved out well.

Limit Bitch 

1st Graham Nikisan Taters Gonna Tate. A well balanced bitch with a good brick shaped head and correct eye neat ears and correct harsh jacket. Moved with drive and nice rear angles.

2nd Fones Nikisan Tater O’Neal at Riveltofs. Sister to above, slightly shorter in length. Lovely neck and shoulders sloping top line. She moves well and has a lovely out line.

Open Bitch 

1st White Schnauster Hunky Dory. RBCC. A lovely P&S well balanced bitch of good proportions, brick shaped head and neat ears. very harsh jacket. good length of neck lending into well laid back shoulders. Lovely front assembly and rib good rears angles, moved with drive .

2nd Woods CH Penbro Talk Of The Town JW. Good clean head and neat ears, a good fore chest and rear angles. Longer in body than one but moved well.

Champion Bitch 

1st Descere CH Amorevita Neris Of Fortune. Stunning shape and outline. Good head and ears harsh jacket. With nice rear angles and drive she moved beautifully.

2nd Jones Boracic Aphrodite’s Kiss. Good shaped B&S with a nice head and neat ears. Good jacket. Moved well.

1st Amorevita Una Fortuna for Lundzing. Lovely black shaped Bitch good length of neck and nice shoulders. Moved well.

2nd Bloomingstar Dancing Girl at Phyllberry. A nice shape again and neat ears and a good jacket, preferred the move on 1 today.

2nd Mellor Lyzahro Mostly Harmless. White Male with a harsh jacket and good head. Moved well.

Baby Puppy Dog 

1st Parker’s Draxpark Face The Chaser. Impressive 4 month old, so well made with a good forechest, strong topline, good for bone and well muscled. Correct tail set and plenty of attitude, moved out freely. Masculine head, harsh coat. BBPIB

2nd Houchin’s Philoma Simon Templar at Barnsdale. Attractive youngster, not as mature as 1 and different in type. Lovely head, ears and dark eye with good expression.  Super outgoing temperament, moved with enthusiasm, enjoying his day out, look forward to seeing him develop.

Minor Puppy Dog

1st Cullen’s Sir Constantine De Barba Negra at Philoma (ImpFCA). Outstanding, quality 7 month old, so well constructed, super proportions and well balanced. Plenty of bone, elegant flow of neck into good shoulders.  Moved out with confidence, never put a foot wrong, holding his topline with a lengthy, powerful and balanced stride for one so young. Good head planes, super dark eye and used his ears to give expression.  He was presented in tip top condition, handled to perfection and enjoying every minute.  BP, RBD, RBOB and delighted to see him go BPIS.

Post Graduate Dog

1st Gillam’s Snakesbury Fletcher. 23 months old, maturing nicely. A little longer cast and front needs to develop but a good, honest type. Super temperament, moved out well, harsh jacket. Masculine head, neat ears.

Champion Dog 

1st Cullen’s Philoma One Night Only. Impressive 3 ½ year old in superb condition, so well presented and at one with his handler.  Making a clean outline, with a good lay of shoulder. Nicely proportioned with good bone, deep ribs, strong thighs and well muscled quarters. Powered round the ring with a free, balanced stride with reach and drive. Classic head with a lovely dark eye and used his ears, never stopped showing. He looked a picture. BD, BOB and BIS.

Baby Puppy Bitch

1st Veal’s Philoma Encanto. 4 months delightful puppy making the best of herself and enjoying her day out. Pretty head, parallel head planes, dark eye and carried hers ears to advantage.  Well constructed, plenty of bone, coat coming in. Developing nicely, moved out soundly.

2nd Parker’s Draxpark Celebrity Chase. Different type to 1, has all the desired attributes, lovely feminine head with typical expression and dark eye. Not as balanced on the move as 1 today but sure she will mature well. Two promising puppies.

Minor Puppy Bitch

1st Parker’s Draxpark Crown Jewel. Upstanding quality 7 months puppy, making a nice shape with good shoulder placement. Good head planes, super dentition and correct ears. Moved out well using her strong quarters BPB.

2nd Partner’s Draxpark Crowning Glory.  Sister to 1 and very similar, slightly more feminine in stature. Liked her reach of neck and held her topline well. Great harsh coat, super temperament.  Lovely head and expression. Moved out  freely, just needs time to strengthen up and mature.

Puppy Bitch 

1st Staple’s Riesenheim Over The Moon For Ruffhaus.  7 months, well proportioned puppy, maturing nicely. Making a strong outline, well-ribbed in good condition with a super jacket. Moved out well for her age.

Open Bitch 

1st Clay’s Philoma Lucia.  Upstanding mature bitch of nearly 3 years.  She had such a lovely outlook and attitude, super temperament. Up to size and carrying a tad too much weight today but what a lovely stamp. She had good head planes, dark eyes and the desired expression. Lots of bone and substance and well constructed. Moved out soundly holding her topline with a good stride. Nicely presented.

Champion Bitch

1st Veal’s Ch Philoma American In Paris. Attractive, quality bitch, 41/2 years. Feminine and elegant, pleasing lay of shoulder into firm topline. So nicely balanced and correct proportions.  Moved out with reach and drive and lengthy strides. Just thought she needed a bit more body today, to be expected as I see to her credit she is the mother of BBPB. RBB

1st Parker’s Ch Daserbe Chase The AceTo Draxpark. Impressive bitch in great form for her 8 years, Plenty of body, well proportioned, has substance with strong forechest. Strong head with alert expression and neat ears. She had a super harsh coat. Moved out freely, with a balanced stride using her strong rear. Super temperament and a pleasure to see her enjoying her day. BB and BVIB
